Doctor Drain septic tank treatment is a dry, free flowing powder consisting of waste digesting enzymes and select strains of natural bacteria. All of the specific strains of Doctor Drain are authorized by the Food Safety and Inspection service of the USDA for use in federally inspected establishments. The product meets Federal Specifications P-C-440 and GSA Commercial Specifications #A-A-11.

Dr. Drain is a concentrated source of hydrolytic (degrading) enzymes and eight strains of natural bacteria that are genetically capable of producing concentrations of enzymes in waste treatment systems under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. This product is used in food processing plants, and in municipal and Industrial waste treatment facilities. It helps in the liquefaction and degrading of organic waste and odor control in an environmentally-sound manner. Bio-augmentation using Doctor Drain, improves the efficiency of industrial, municipal and other waste treatment systems.

APPLICATION RATES

Septic System: Flush one bottle down the toilet each month. For Best Results: Flush ˝ cup (4 oz.) of Doctor Drain septic tank treatment down the toilet for each 1,000 gallons of septic tank capacity. Repeat treatment once each week for maximum septic tank maintenance.

R.V. Holding Tanks: Flush 2 capfuls down R.V. toilet bowl after dumping holding tank.

Oxidation Lagoons, Digesters, Sludge Pits, Clarifiers, Imhoff Tanks and Collection Systems: Application rate is 2 ppm of Doctor Drain per day. The 2 ppm is determined by the total weight of the waste water in the system.

Example: In a 400 000 liter lagoon you would multiply the 400 000 liters by 1kg per liter times 2 over 1 000 000. This equals 800g of Doctor Drain per day to be used for a normal preventative maintenance treatment.

400 000l X 1kg/l X 2 parts = 800g/day
1,000,000

Application rates vary with retention times, BOD ranges, water temperatures, pH, sludge build-up, and pond depth. Normal preventative maintenance rates are based upon:

•Minimum Retention Time of Seven Days

• BOD ranges of 150 to 250 ppm

• pH of 6.5 to 7.5

• Maximum Water Depth of Eight Feet

Should you exceed any of these conditions we will calculate an application rate for you.

Flow rates can also be used to determine the volume of Doctor Drain required for normal preventative maintenance. Calculate the weight of the total organic contaminated waste water flowing into the waste system and add 5 ppm of Doctor Drain by weight.

Example: With 38 000 liters of daily flow, you would multiply 38 000 liters times 1kg per liter times five over 1 000 000 which equals 200g per day. This would be the normal preventative maintenance treatment.

38 000l X 1kg/l X 5 parts = 200g/day
1,000,000

The lesser of the two calculations would be the quantity of Doctor Drain to add daily.

The point of application should be in an area which allows the product the maximum time in the system.

LARGE APPLICATION PARAMETERS:

Dr. Drain septic tank care contains a complex of bacteria and enzymes which perform in an aqueous solution within the following parameters

1. pH

optimum 7.0
 minimum 5.0
 maximum 9.0

2. Dissolved Oxygen (DO)

 optimum 3ppm
  minimum 2ppm

  3. Carbon/Nitrogen ratio (C/N)

 optimum 10:1
   maximum 20:1

  4. Temperature

 optimum 30oC (86o F)
  minimum 10oC (50o F)
    maximum 40oC (104oF)
  5. Negative effects on the biological growth rates are possible in the presence of varying concentrations of heavy metal in the aqueous solution.
ie: mercury, hexavalent chromium and inorganic cyanide wastes.
  6. Residence time or time the biology needs to acclimate and break down the organic waste is 7 days.

APPEARANCE:

Medium tan, free flowing granular powder, yeasty odor, blue dye.
